    Single Red Line

    Following the popularity of the Rolex Submariner, due to its prominent featuring in the wildly successful James Bond 007 franchise films, Rolex decided to work on creating a Submariner that was refocused back on the original purpose of promoting sea exploration by helping divers reach new depths that the commercially popular Submariner simply couldn't reach. The year is 1967, and the world is about to be introduced to that very concept in the Sea Dweller. This first batch type #1665 dubbed the 'Single Red Line' Sea Dweller, was to become one of the rarest and most sought after Rolex's of all time.

    007 Rolex Submariner

    The 1955 first public offering of the the submariner was Rolex testing the waters so to speak with this new type of design. While the submariner sold well around the diving community from 1955 through about 1960, it wasn't until Sean Connery debuted as James Bond in Dr. No wearing a Rolex Submariner 6538 that the general population really started to take notice of this emerging secret known only before in the diving community.
